Built on the Fiat Ducato platform, the Expedition range offers practical layouts, generous storage and comfortable accommodation for touring throughout the UK and Europe. The Auto-Trail Expedition C73 (2024) is a particularly versatile six-berth coachbuilt, featuring a fixed rear double bed over a large rear garage, an overcab double bed and a convertible front lounge. It measures approximately 7.25m in length, 2.35m in width, with a maximum permissible mass of 3,500kg, with a 3,650kg option available. The C73 can accommodate up to six berths and up to six travelling seats, depending on specification, making it an extremely flexible choice for families and larger groups.

Starting at the rear of the motorhome, the C73 features a fixed transverse double bed, positioned above an exceptionally generous rear garage. This provides a comfortable and permanent sleeping area while making excellent use of the space underneath. The large garage is accessible from the exterior and provides valuable room for bicycles, outdoor furniture, sports equipment, luggage and other larger touring essentials. This combination of fixed sleeping accommodation and substantial storage makes the rear of the C73 particularly practical for active travellers.

Moving forward, you’ll find the central washroom, designed to provide all the facilities required for comfortable independent touring. The washroom incorporates a separate shower, toilet, washbasin and useful storage, providing a convenient private space for getting ready in the morning or freshening up after a day of exploring. The separate shower arrangement is particularly useful for a motorhome designed to accommodate up to six people.

Opposite, the family-friendly kitchen is well equipped for preparing meals while travelling. With a three-burner hob, oven and grill, sink, refrigerator and useful worktop and cupboard storage, it provides everything required for anything from a quick breakfast to a family evening meal. The practical layout ensures the kitchen remains easy to use while retaining plenty of space within the central living area.

Continuing towards the front, the spacious lounge and dining area provides a bright and sociable environment for relaxing, eating and spending time together. The seating arrangement combines with the cab seats to create a generous living space, while the convertible lounge can also be transformed into additional sleeping accommodation when required. This gives the C73 the flexibility to comfortably accommodate larger families or groups without permanently sacrificing daytime living space.

Above the cab, the large overcab double bed provides a second fixed sleeping area and is a defining feature of the Hi-Line C73 layout. Positioned away from the main living area, it gives additional occupants a dedicated sleeping space while allowing the lounge below to remain available. Together with the rear fixed bed and convertible lounge, the C73 provides up to six berths.

At the very front, the Fiat Ducato cab provides a comfortable and capable driving environment. The 2024 C73 is powered by the 2.2-litre Fiat Multijet 3 engine, with a standard 140bhp output and 9 speed automatic transmission. The cab specification is designed to provide a comfortable driving position and the features expected for modern touring, making the C73 well suited to both longer motorway journeys and exploring the UK’s scenic roads
